Skating + Airshow + Peiyi's Birthday

Sat 23/2
I met up with yihui and Clarissa for distance skating today. We caught up with each other on the long bus ride to east coast park...

After skating down the 'garden hill', we got offered a packet of free milo by a couple from milo in exchange for a photo for their ad pitch.

After popping by the security tent, we got a FREE 100PLUS!!! The caterer was so nice, he even offered us muffins! (which we declined of course) So after our 2nd free drink of the day, we headed off to our final destination - Changi Village

After reaching our finish line, we ate at Changi Village Hawker Centre, where I queued for OVER AN HOUR, for nasi lemak! DO you have ANY IDEA how painful it was to stand for 1 hr after skating for 4! The queue wasn't exactly long, its just that everyone was ordering upwards of 20packets! (im serious) The smallest order was 15 packets... The only reason the queue was moving was because ppl infront of me were dropping out! DAMM! It didn't even taste that good, standards have dropped (significantly) since i last ate it 2 years ago..

ANW, after that, clarissa left for church and yihui and I took a bus to east coast park (again...) to meet for peiyi's birthday!

Once a Saint, Always a Saint... (Well, not quite)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

19 Feb marked the closure of another chapter in my academic life.
I savored the food I would never taste again.
I spoke to friends; no longer classmates.
I listen to words from teachers who inspired; missed not one word did I.
I strolled aimlessly at reduced pace around campus, regretting the lectures I not attend, the conversations I not had, the people I not know.
I stood gazing back at the majestic blocks, ahead the spinning metal that meant the end.
Slowly, I pushed it. OUT. One last time.

Well, we pretty much convinced all our teachers not to conduct lessons proper since it was our last day in SAJC (for most)...

To the best CT the world has seen: Thank you for making our short stay so much more enjoyable. The conversations about the life experiences/ crazy antics in your day and will be well remembered, as would those laughable happenings in class (referring specifically to the Kia Boon Squirting incident).

All the best to everyone, where ever we will be going...

A Poison Tree

I was angry with my friend:
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I water'd it in fears,
Night & morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright;
And my foe beheld it shine,
And he knew that it was mine,

And into my garden stole
When the night had veil'd the pole:
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretch'd beneath the tree.

-- William Blake

If you understand it, make sure you are neither the persona nor the foe.

I was at Oriental Hotel when there was a robber who held a female staff hostage at knife point.. I walked right passed them without realising the gravity of the situation. I only noticed when the staff told me to stand back and I saw all the foreigners with their mouths agap. He had stolen some handbags earlier and was trying to escape... (male staff surrounding him immediately after he let go of the female hostage)
Photobucket
Pinned down by the staff (and the handbags were returned later)
You just don't see things like this in Singapore anymore - so much so that when it stared at me right in the face, it takes awhile to register...
